Always Austen

Always Austen by Molly Day

A fresh new take on a classic story, Always Austen by Molly Day begins with a modern adaptation of Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice. Full of drama, romance, and Easter eggs for Austen fans, Always Austen is a novel that any romance lover will enjoy!

Grad student Bethany Benson catches the bouquet at a wedding and is forced to dance with Liam Davenport, the man who caught the garter. She is determined to make the best of it but Liam gives her absolutely nothing to work with.

She overhears him talking smack to his best friend after the dance and vows to never speak to him again. The problem? Both of their best friends danced together at the wedding too and hit it off immediately.

Bethany wants to be supportive of her best friend’s crush but isn’t a fan of continuing to run into her new nemesis in the process. Her first impression of Liam only continues to get worse every time she sees him and she wonders how someone nice like Ben ended up being best friends with someone like Liam.

Is there more to Liam than meets the eye? What if they have more in common than Bethany thought? What if she was wrong about him? Could a relationship ever work out between the two of them after so many misunderstandings?

Excerpt:

The atmosphere was getting to Bethany as the lyrics were about seeing things differently because of someone. She was definitely seeing Liam in a different light after witnessing how he interacted with his sister and how mature he had been about finding out that she worked at his company.

Liam had known Bethany was there since her first day. He could have said something to her then but didn’t, staying out of her way until she bumped into him by accident.

On the last line of the song, she felt Liam’s dark eyes on her and her heart skipped a beat. What? No way. That had to be some sort of mistake. It was just because of the song. It couldn’t possibly be anything more than that.

This was Liam Davenport. Just because he wasn’t as bad as she had originally thought, didn’t mean that she could ever be interested in him. And there was no way that he was still interested in her after what she said and did. Not a chance!
