Provocative Mothers and Their Precocious Daughters: 19th Century Women's Rights Leaders

Provocative Mothers and Their Precocious Daughters:

19th Century Women's Rights Leaders

Mothers and daughters share a special bond that ebbs and flows throughout their lives. It may not always be solid, but no matter what difficulties they face, their relationships are usually unbreakable.
Take a step back in time to uncover the engaging lives of four mothers and daughters. As pioneer women’s rights leaders, Martha Wright, Abby Kelley Foster, Elizabeth Cady Stanton, and Lucy Stone worked diligently for what they believed women deserved. Letters, diary entries, and journals reveal the strong mother-daughter relationships that not only enriched their personal lives, but the woman suffrage movement as a whole.
From the mid-1800s to the early 1900s, these women struggled to make the world a better place. Through their actions and beliefs, they forged a path for future generations and raised daughters to be determined young women who merit our attention today.

Evil Aliens with Afros

Evil Aliens with Afros:

My lived experience with systematic racism

in the 21st century

In this compelling first-person account, Daniel Joseph explores systematic racism in the 21st century. From the impact of the wealth gap that exist between black and white people, to the interaction between black lives and the blue line. Reliving his experiences, including being called "Evil Aliens with Afros" in his youth, Joseph examines the overwhelming effects of racism throughout his, and his father's generation. Referring to the misinformation and fear of black people in the generations leading up to the early-90s, racial stereotyping has been put on trial as the most significant actor in the collective behaviour of negativity towards black people. However, offering some hope for a better future, Joseph reflects on the lessons learned over the years, how to fight for racial equality, and what we can do to engage more collaboratively.

Aimed to build self-esteem and enhance the acceptance of others, this wonderfully illustrated diverse children’s story encourages children not to judge others. Embracing acceptance and self-love.
Ms. Freckle has a secret she’s worried that her students will laugh at, but the students try to show her there’s nothing to fear — or is there?
What could her secret be?
We all have differences, but once you step into the class of Ms. Freckle — the nicest teacher of them all, there’s no need to worry! Just Because… is a feel-good story about accepting who we are and finding the courage to be who we are despite what others may think.

The Never Ending Motivation Book

Motivation is such a powerful force in our world. It drives us to do great things, lifts us up when we feel down and kicks us in the butt when we need it. The issue with motivation is that it needs to keep being recharged. This book is my first step in my Constant Motivation Technique to keep your motivation flowing.

How many times have you listen to many of the great motivational speakers that are out there and you come out of that talk super pumped. Only to have that motivation wane or drop off as you get back into daily life and the wind that it knocks out of you. I have repeat this cycle so many times over the course of my life that I wanted to do something about it. This book keeps your motivated by feeding you bite size motivation over and over again. Each motivation in this book is designed to be read and digested over a weeks time. Putting that motivation into your the process of your life and sharing its power with all those around you. Then the next week a new motivation is waiting for you so that you don’t fall into the valley that so often follows the motivational highs.

Imagine spreading the energy you have after coming out of a motivational lecture or weekend event over a years time. Constantly refilling your motivational tank with gas to keep moving down the motivational road. This process keeps your motivation gradually moving toward a new high all the time, instead of using the old peaks and valley method of motivation. This book is alway here for you when you feel down or your motivation starts to wane. However it also picks you up even higher when you are riding the motivation highs. This book is a lifetime motivational journey that I am super happy to be on with you.

The base book has a series of short simple motivational message inside. As you read each one you need to sit with it and see how you can put it into your life and use it to keep yourself motivationally moving forward. The beauty of this book is that the motivations never end each month a series of new motivation message are added creating the never ending book and never ending motivation. The beauty is you only have to purchase the book once, there is no extra cost to get the new motivations all you have to do is refresh the book.

“There is no shortage of motivation in the world, only the lack of focus”

Sid the Kindest Kid: Sweets...Sweets...Sweets

Sid the Kindest Kid:

Sweets...Sweets...Sweets

Inspired by her son, Anusjka R.E. penned “Sid the Kindest Kid- Sweets, Sweets, Sweets” to show young readers the value of kindness. Using simple stanzas, the book unfolds a charming story that is relatable to young children.“I would like each reader to see themselves and their own home and environment in the story,” says Anusjka R.E, who purposely keeps the setting of her book ambiguous.

Additionally, Sid, the star of the story, presents a likable and relatable character that Anusjka plans to feature in future books.

An excerpt from “Sid the Kindest Kid: Sweets, Sweets, Sweets”:Sid went silent for a while, probably thinking about whether he should share his sweets, as he had been waiting all week for them.
Should he? Would he?Then he said ...

Toot and Tut: With Nuttin’ in Kommon

Toot and Tut: With Nuttin’ in Kommon

Long ago, Toot, Tut, and Mum were just like you and me. They laughed, cried, sneezed, and passed gas just like the rest of us. Then, something terrible happened: they died. Their father tried to bring them back with the help of an underachieving alchemist, but the alchemist bungled it and made them immortal instead!

Now, they laugh, cry, sneeze, and pass gas while wrapped in old, thick bandages. They’re 100 percent authentic mummies. For thousands of years, they have roamed quietly, only escaping their sarcophagi in the cover of night. Still, it isn’t all bad for the mummified family. They get to see the world—one museum at a time—and learn everything they never had time to learn before they died. Plus, they’re together. But, when Tut, the serious one, and Toot, the mischievous one, get into trouble in their new museum home, the mummies learn more about today’s world than they ever thought they would. And it might just ruin their best-kept secret.

What Mum, Toot, and Tut thought was just another temporary home turned into the mummies’ worst nightmare. After having their identities discovered, they have to put their trust in a couple of nighttime security guards and the museum’s curator to find their way out of this mess before things go too far!

January Tenth: Finding Our Power of Purpose in the United State of Addiction

January Tenth: Finding Our Power of Purpose in the United State of Addiction

Finding our path of purpose will often be revealed to us after we decide which paths not to take or get beat into submission by the paths we've already chosen. Regardless, our greatest obstacle to achieving our purpose has become the worst four-letter word in history: EASY. For profit industries have helped us create a life-style opposed to anything that removes us from our ever-shrinking comfort zone. In exchange for easy lives, we give up our one and only gift to the world, our purpose, for someone or something else that lives to their purpose. This is not a judgement of industries; used correctly, these industries are essential and provide outstanding products for daily growth. January Tenth provides readers with the necessity to exchange the values of industry projections for internal values of self worth and self confidence. The result will be a journey for our purpose!

Paper Hearts

She’d dreamt of him.

Esther had been dreaming the same dream for weeks. Visions and emotions filled her mind at night that strangely felt real. After the loss of her parents, she’d been raised by her aunt. The dreams began the day her elderly aunt also died—leaving Esther seventeen and very much alone. Esther told herself she was used to being alone—that she liked it even. Which is maybe why moving in with her uncle and his family, who are practically strangers, feels scarier than the reoccurring dream, or the thought of ending up alone. Soon, she’ll be ten hours from the only home she remembers, and the one person she has left in the world—her best friend.

Finn doesn’t care about any of that.
He’s got bigger problems. Being sick and angry never gave him much time to think about anyone else. How could it? He’s dealing with smothering parents who are clearly in denial about his life and a body that’s trying to give out on him. Why can’t everyone just accept what is and let him live the way he wants to?

When Esther and Finn’s worlds collide, fact and fiction begin to blur. Signs of Esther’s dreams are all around them. For the first time in a long time, Esther doesn’t feel like loneliness is her only future, and Finn starts to believe he may have more than video games and just another hang-out night with his friends to live for. Will Esther’s dreams lead them to their saving grace, or will it just be another heartbreak?

My Little People: A Hospice Social Worker’s Journey

My Little People:

A Hospice Social Worker’s Journey

Annie Clara Brown is passionate about her work in hospice. It is gratifying to have embraced the social work profession in this manner! She cares deeply for her patients and caregivers, and has developed a healthy sense of humor in an occupation that can be both physically and emotionally demanding.
Annie’s strengths lie in the personal stories and her personal feelings, reactions, and experiences.
Annie hopes to inspire caregivers and patients to choose hospice care when faced with terminal illness at end of life. She further wants social workers and healthcare workers to know that hospice care can be one of the most challenging but fulfilling areas of service to mankind.
Ms. Brown has had the opportunity to precept other social workers during her time in this journey. Two of the following individuals had the pleasure of reading this book prior to publication and Ms. Brown quotes their remarks.
“My little people is a virtual gift to those who read it, in that its author has managed to successfully interconnect valuable, historical hospice social work information for its use in a professional forum and for the sake of the individual battling terminal illness. This book serves as an invaluable tool for any caretaker or loved one navigating the end of life process.” Marta James Harris, LBSW
“If you are searching for answers about hospice care this is an extraordinary read. This book not only defines who, what, when, and where of hospice, but also tells the heartfelt stories of a humbled medical social worker making the best of heart-wrenching situations. Ms. Brown ties in her personal experiences to make an informative, yet personal story to educate individuals and families on hospice. I enjoyed reading about the various encounters Ms. Brown has experienced. This book is a must read!” Amanda Johnson, MSW

Finding Normal: Living Free From Culture Shock

“I just want my life to be NORMAL!” is something I have said repeatedly in the heat of the moment, when what appeared to be an unbearable situation hit me head on. In the midst of praying and crying, I heard the Lord say with such a calm voice that brought peace to me, “Your life is NORMAL.” Then He asked the question that I know He knew the answer to, “ What if this is the way that your life is suppose to be?”

Have you ever asked yourself the question: Why is my life the way it is? You may have wondered to yourself, “Could my life have had another outcome?” or “Why can’t my life be normal?” We spend an entire lifetime trying to find pieces to this puzzle called life. Some of us get frustrated along the way, and in the midst of the frustration, we find joy, happiness, and sadness all wrapped up in a time capsule. If you’re at the point in your life where you have came to a crossroad and your wondering why to the past and what’s next to the future then “Finding normal” is the book for you. God created us all with a purpose in mind and He wants you to know how to journey through life. Soon, it will all make sense! Take a journey with me and others to get a few viewpoints as to how to look at your life differently. Your life just may be what normal looks like.

550AU Buried in Stone: A Science Fiction Thriller

550AU Buried in Stone:

A Science Fiction Thriller

The path to the Oort Cloud begins underground.

Can Taiyo Yamazaki break from nature’s claw to reach the stars?

A rogue planet is hurtling past the solar system. Taiyo knows how to unlock its mysteries. If he can just survive astronaut selection...

There’s a place on Earth so isolated and hostile—so alien—it's used to test and train astronauts for other worlds.
It’s where the mind fills in for the eyes; where cracks in the crew will be exposed.

Aerospace engineer Taiyo Yamazaki is determined to become Japan’s next astronaut and redefine who his country considers “real” Japanese. For the final round of selection, the Japanese Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) sends Taiyo and his former professor, Ronin Aro, to the Australian tropics for a cave excursion as part of an international team.

Taiyo, a rational idealist, thinks becoming an astronaut will give him credibility against allegations he illegally collaborated with China while working on his proposal for a spacecraft to observe Tabaldak, a mysterious rogue world, before it slips out of reach.

When disaster strikes, and the astronaut candidates are sealed in the cave, the excursion turns into a trial against nature’s whims, against each other, and against a creature of opportunity. Taiyo is about to learn that Earth is a hostile world. He'll need his training, science, engineering, and the raw human instinct to survive.

You'll love this near-future astronaut suspense for its realism, global intrigue, diverse characters, and unsettling themes.

Step into the void …

§ •°

There is never so quiet and eery a place on the surface of the Earth as the coast in that sliver of time between the earthquake and tsunami; just after that first aftershock but before the warning sirens begin to wail; when every person along that coast is as attuned and transfixed on their environment as a stalking predator seconds from the kill; listening, watching, waiting, because they know the retreating sea is Nature re-arming, gathering up all that fleetingly absent noise in readiness to deliver one great historic blow.

The only moments of greater silence and purgatory occur underground and in space. 550AU intertwines all three.
